Meet Louise Frith

Louise Frith is an artist based on the outskirts of Ballarat, Victoria. Her practice focuses on the beauty found within our natural world particularly, the unique characteristics of animals and local wildlife. The artist aims to utilise her artistic practice to inspire small moments of joy within her audience, whilst allowing them the flexibility to form their own interpretations and perspectives.

Within her artistic practice, Louise explores a variety of two-dimensional mediums including acrylic paint, ink washes and a unique drawing technique known as stippling, pointillism or dotting.

Her current practice focuses on the utilisation of colour within acrylic paint to create a more vibrant tonal range to build up the forms of her subject matter. This is accentuated by her favourite technique of black backgrounds in order to create a more dramatic contrast between subject matter and background within the artworks.

Louise studied Fine Arts at Monash University completing a Bachelor of Art History and Curating in 2023. She proceeded to continue her artistic studies by completing a Masters in Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies at Deakin University in 2025.
