Louise Frith
Louise Frith is an Australian artist based on the outskirts of Ballarat in Victoria. Her practice focuses on the beauty found within our natural world particularly, the unique characteristics of animals and local wildlife. The artist aims to utilise her artistic practice to inspire small moments of joy within her audience, whilst allowing them the flexibility to form their own interpretations and perspectives.
Louise has loved art her whole life. After experiencing some health problems off the back of Covid19 in 2022, Louise returned to expanding her artistic practice and focusing on experimenting with new techniques within her art. Art has provided a way of exploring the world through a new perspective whilst recovering from these health issues, with the hope of providing that same window into another world to those who view her artworks.
Louise’s practice primarily focuses on the subject matter of animals, wildlife and environmental themes. This is accomplished through the utilisation of a variety of mediums including acrylic paint, drawing techniques such as pen and ink or stippling (dotting), and ink paintings. Her current practice focuses on the utilisation of colour within acrylic paint to create a more vibrant tonal range to build up the forms of her subject matter. This is accentuated by her favourite technique of black backgrounds in order to create a more dramatic contrast between subject matter and background within the artworks.
Louise offers open commissions to anyone who is inspired by her style but has a particular vision in mind. If this is you please get in contact.
Louise studied Fine Arts at Monash University completing a Bachelor of Art History and Curating in 2023. She proceeded to continue her artistic studies by completing a Masters in Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies at Deakin University in 2025.
